Typeform – how did I found it?
Not so long ago I had an NPS survey to do. I tested various tools and learned about Typeform. I decided to test it. From the very beginning I liked the simplicity with which you can create nice looking forms. The longer I work with this tool, the more I like it. Why? I will try to describe it in this article.
What can Typeform be used for?
Typeform allows you to create all types of forms. Each of them functions as a subpage to which there is a separate link, but it is also possible to embed them on a website. There is also an interesting possibility to add the first question as an e-mail. After choosing the answer, the user is directed to the remaining questions. There are many ways of using this tool. Here I will mention the ones I like the most.
Satisfaction Surveys
Within the Typeform there is a possibility to ask questions in the form of both closed and open questions, but also to ask for assessment on a given scale.
Opinion on the product or service purchased
Each purchase of a product or service may result in the sending of a link to a survey in which the user may indicate their opinion.
Pre-qualifying questionnaires for the purchase of a given version of service
If your service has many options and it’s difficult to figure out the price list – you can create a form that asks all the key questions to help guide user to the right option.
Collecting leads and scoring them
Typeform is a good way to collect leads. With built-in scoring can inform the sales department which leads have highest value.
Information on the reason for opting out
If the user resigns from the service – it is worth knowing the reason for the resignation and giving the customer a chance to respond in an elegant form.
Research survey
If you want to know what other people think about the subject, the tool will also work.
Webinar registration form
You can provide a link to the form anywhere, which is very convenient, e.g. when signing up for a webinar. Thanks to the integration you can send a message with the link to the webinar after filling in the form.
Quiz
Typeform will also work well here. In addition, it has a built-in picture-based response function so that this quiz can look different than others.
About the free and paid version of Typeform
The basic functions are available free of charge, but for some activities you have to pay for the tool. The most important information:
Free version
If you just want to build the forms (maximum 3), all the questions go one by one, you don’t mind the Typeform branding, you only need 100 answers per month – you can use the Typeform in a free version. The tool still looks great for both desktop and mobile. You also have access to place the forms inside the page and generate a link wherever you want.
Paid version
The paid version allows for much more. Depending on the chosen plan, you can use hidden fields, advanced logic, scoring, number of forms without a limit, many different integrations, redirection to a given address after filling in the form, and much more answers per month.
Advanced logic
This is a function that allows you to display further questions depending on the answer given in the previous question. This can be useful, for example, in order to get a more accurate answer to a particular issue that is of interest to the user, omitting detailed queries on issues that are not of interest to the user. This logic also allows you to show other end screens, depending on the answer.
Hidden fields
A way to place values that you have already known in the link. For example, if we want to send questions to our customers, we can automatically send them links with parameters that will allow us to check later which customer has answered in a specific way. Thanks to this solution, there is no need to ask identifying questions in the survey.
Scoring
Each answer can have a certain number of points (also negative points). Thanks to that, after filling in the whole form consisting of many questions – for each user we get the total number of points. This allows us to determine how much a given user is interested / fits into our favorite client profile.
Why do I like it so much?
Appearance
First of all, Typeform looks very good. It is a tool where you do not need to have great graphic skills. Everything is configurable even for people who do not deal with graphics on a daily basis. A great advantage is a good look both on the desktop and on mobile devices.
Logic
The ability to move on to the questions is excellent, depending on what the user answers in the previous questions. This means that unnecessary questions do not need to be run, and the most important issues for the user can be clarified with additional questions.
Hidden fields
The possibility to add parameters via URL gives a lot of additional possibilities. Thanks to this functionality you can find out about your users additional data.
Wide list of integration
Integration with many marketing automation systems, Google Sheets, Google Analytics, but also Zapier, which can be used to integrate with almost anything.
